Bucharest Stock Exchange opens with gains across most indices

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Monday’s trading session with gains across most indices and turnover stood at 1.344 billion lei (approximately 270 million euros) after the first 30 minutes of trading, of which 1.342 billion lei came from bonds and 1.4 million lei from shares.

The main index, BET, which reflects the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, registered a 0.73% increase, while the BET-Plus index, tracking the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, rose 0.70%.

Additionally, the BET-XT, the extended blue-chip index comprising the 25 most liquid stocks, gained 0.73%, while the BET-BK index, used as a benchmark for investment fund returns, appreciated 0.82%.

The BET-FI index, which tracks Financial Investment Companies (SIFs), recorded a decline of 1.05%, whereas BET-NG, the index for 10 companies in the energy and utilities sector, advanced 0.68%.

The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies from the AeRO market, was down 1.19%.

According to BVB data, the biggest share price increases were recorded by: UAMT (+14%), Lion Capital (+3.88%), Rompetrol Well Services (+3.57%).

On the other hand, decliners included: Roca Industry Holdingrock1 (-4.64%), Rompetrol Rafinare (-4.00%) and Aerostar (-3.41%).
